Er, hi.

I could add a comment here about how long its been since the last post, but I am sure you know how that goes by now. As usual I completely forgot this thing existed and when I occasionally thought "hmm, maybe I should write something..." when something interesting happened then I had a new problem - "Ooh better not put that, someone might see!"

Haha! Yeah I am getting a bit worried about prospective employers and other people who hold my career and paychecks in their hand disagreeing with some of my opinions (and possibly my complaining loudly about colleagues and my job) so I have decided to keep schtum just in case.

So what is different from July?... Hmm.

I am sure practically everything but its sort of hard to know when it has been so long! One thing I definitely have to mention is that I plan on buying myself a christmas present this year : )

I meant to get it last year, but money was a little tighter and so the money I got for christmas went in to the bank because I felt guilty about spending it! But this year? Oh nononononono![Churchill face]

Despite the fact that we are in the beginnings of a recession, and that by the end of my uni years I am supposed to be super broke, I actually have more money now than I have ever had! Not even counting the money from parents for tuition fees, all my hours at Mcwork and my general tight fistedness means I had enough money to live on for the year in September! In fact I completely forgot that Mr Brown is very kindly giving me £3000 this year! As a result I am having driving lessons now, have been on 3 holidays this year (on a shoestring naturally - I do have Yorkshire and Scottish blood), and have developed a taste for sushi and Sakushi - the local japanese sushi bar. My bank balance is still going up. A lot!

I think its time I got myself a treat : D

and so...

"Errr. Its a little keyboard with a lamp on it."

Noooo! It is TEH KOOLZ! It is called a Microkorg and it is awesome. A little synth, complete with vocoder (voice changing capabilities) and look at all the twiddly knobs on it! Squeeee!

I have actually wanted one of these for years, I love the technical geekery of keyboards anyway. I have to be the only person in the world that bothered to use the synth feature on my trusty old Casio WK1800. While others were round town blagging their way into clubs and discovering the interesting things you can do with solvents I was fine tuning the decay envelope of tone T202. No I wasn't somebody with a whole lot of street cred in my school...

Anyhoo I have developed a bit of a taste for electronica in recent months. Ladytron are a great band that I ended up going to see live at the new Carling Academy (The old Roxy Disco) in the city centre. In the words of Simon Cowell, they had the charisma "of an onion". Luckily their songs are awesome and being electronic, their songs are best heard live when the dirty low waves make your chest cavity vibrate - you can quite literally feel electronic music. I can't wait to be doing the same with my groovy little Korg. I should start thinking about names...

I am also totally obsessed with Robyn's most recent album. Its been over a year since I have bought any music, let alone an album which probably says a lot about how much I wanted it! I haven't been this into an artist for a long time so its great to feel enthusiastic about music again. Also, her haircut is ice cold.

Speaking of which - my hair is currently cosmic blue! Its not nearly as blue as it sounds, in fact its more black with a blue rinse, I can assure you that the dye itself is very blue. I dyed the bath, the tiles and myself blue for several days. Hell when I was rinsing the stuff about of my hair, it left blue streaks all the way down me where the runoff had been! At least it covers the pink from Megan's hair history....

Well despite the brevity of the this post I had better go. It is 9pm, I am in the library after a long day selling burgers, it is nearly christmas and for once I need to stop being such a bookworm.

Hopefully I can write something more around christmas, but I had better not make any promises...

Finished my chrimbo shopping yesterday. Woo! It might even be a record: finished on the 17th...
I did start in november mind.

I don't really know why I am writing a blog today. Just from habit and muscle memory I clicked on create new on the blogger dashboard. I don't think I have anything terribly interesting to say...

I can't remember whether I wrote this in my last post (I do remember witing the words "wow that is gorgeous!" about it somewhere) but I ordered a fab guitar and I reckon it will come on xmas eve or a tad after christmas. Yay!

I also have very few shifts at work over christmas which I am delighted at! [see previous posts] I didn't even have to tell Becky! I have one 2 till 10 on friday for next week and that is it till new year!

Admittedly I am working 7 am till 3 on new years eve which a little bit shite as I am on an 8 till 4 on new years day. Ooooh I can feel the sleep deprivation already! I will however get to laugh at everybody but myself and Dom as we don't drink. Haha! Everybody will have a banging hangover. I have been told that the customers breath is terrible though on New Years day. I will have to watch out for that or else catch a convenient cold on the 30th to save my nose from some punishment.

Hmm. I really have to stop swearing.....

I got a new shiney phone! Yay! It takes pics and vids and you can voice activate it and it has editing software on it and did I mention it was shiney? Ahhh the smell of consumer fetishism.
I keep fiddling with my phone, I think I am unnerving Katherine. The games are rather diverting too. Very dangerous.

I am writing this again in the library with a very runy nose. I have had an impressive headcold for the past 3 or 4 days which has caused me to stay off school (and work!) for 2 days. Things I have learn from my illness: 1 - Sudafed does no work, 2 - How to actually use my phone properly, 3 - how to shop for chrimbo pressies people actually want 4 - I am getting some awsomely, uberly, massively ace dripping in loveliness carbon fibre drumsticks from Nicks for my b day, 5 - I am getting the most beautiful handmade silk guitar strap from Kat 6 - sitting by the fire for long periods of time makes you burn, 7 - Reading does not help a headache 8 - Always, always, always carry loads of tissues with you when you are producing large quantities of alarmingly yellow/green ick from your nose.

Not bad for a big of a sniffle eh?

*sigh* I am pretty bored. I arrived in school at 8.50am and have had exactly one formal lesson today. I have to hang around till 4 cos I am going to Don Valley for Alive TV training. In this time I have at least found another 3 chrimbo pressies and ordered them. Yay! I am being very good this year. I have done about half of my shopping and by saturday I will have most of it. Woo!

Ooooh its my birthday on saturday and I am actually looking forward to it now. I am less depressed about being 18 now than I was. I figure that although I have been a little depressed the last few days over all the crap I have to put up with till at least June, I now realise that after that I have the longest holiday I have EVER had!! Even better than the May-September jobbie of Yr11! Yay!!! Of course in this time I can loaf around shamelessly, earn loads of money, go to cool places (like Iceland! Yes!) and of course, loaf around some more. Who knows, maybe I will actually get round to writing that novel :). Damn thats a good story!

The only problem I now have is putting up with this oppressive and soul crushing feeling of being trapped in a monotenous yet grueling cycle of school, work and homework. Of course even putting up with this creates problems. I need to be up there, active and adrenalinified if I am going to excell. I don't want to just coast through and get good grades like I always do. I wanna cane myself and do the best damn work I have ever done and get amazing grades! If I want this career I need to get going and do it right. Unfortunately I am finding this difficult as no matter what I seem to do I always feel drained and tired. Although going to bed at sensible times has diminished the "oh my god I need to close my eyes or my head will split open" kind of tiredness, now I just have this gentle throb of apathy and general grogginess. I hope it is just because of this cold but I am not so sure. Maybe if I ate a little better then I would be more alert or if I took a little more exercise. But of course to do this I need time and (more importantly effort). The two things I am running short of.

Bloody vicious circle......

At least I have this Saturday to look forward to and after that Chrimbo! I had just better remember to tell Becky at work the times I am willing to work over chrimbo. If they even think about giving me the shifts they gave me at half term I do not know what I am going to do. I desperately need that time to relax and align myself back to a normal, healthy level of awakeness. I am already gonna have a stack of revision and coursework to do, plus uni offers (hopefully). If I get any more shifts than I ask for I think I am just gonna freak out. Worse than last time. (And I still have a scar from where I punched the wall 5 weeks ago.) I can't take it out on Becky as she is so nice and I can't leave work as believe it or not you can be fairly flexible with your hours unlike other places. I will add that on my to do list on my phone.....

Brrrr! Its cold outside. I can't remember it being so cold for so long. Maybe its just my memory but I dont remember it being this cold for years. It is supposed to be the coldest winter for ages. Ooooh! It is supposed to snow tomorrow or a bit later! About time too. To say it is mid to late november I find it a bit weird that it has been 4 degrees for a week during the day and it hasnt rained once.Bizarre...

Well. I think I am going to be kicked out soon. Apparently "The library isnt open afterschool tonight" so I will go and be bored in the common room. I still have 50 mins before I am picked up. And then after 1 1/2 hours of training it will take me an age (probably an ice one judging by temperature) bfore i get home.....
