Dilemma! Red or purple, red or purple, red or purple. Do I want red or do I want purple?

This question has haunted me for an hour now! I have found the perfect MP3 player that I am about to order but the creative Zen Micro comes in 10 colours! 10! For a aesthetics freak like me that is torture!

I narrowed it down to 3. Orange, red and purple. I figured as orange is my favourite colour I would have that and just included the others to be compared just in case. After half an hour of scrutinising I let painfully let the orange go as the shade just wasnt dark and mean enough. It was too yellowy and a might too sparkly. Now it is just blood red or deep royal purple.

Hehe. How is it that women are so specific with colours?

Man: "Pink."

Woman: "A deep and rich peuce with shades of fushia and maroon."

It may just be me of course. I have a thing about colours. I can open up a colour palette on the PC to pick a colour and end up moving the cursor fractions of an inch to get the shade just right. I spent several weeks of my GCSE Product Design lessons tweaking the colour of my CD rack!

Ok. Let me weigh up the pros and cons off the colours.

RED

The colour I would normally go for.
Matches my gloves.
Doesnt sell as well as other colours meaning it is more unusual.
Will be easy to find in my bag.
Goes with my room colours more than the other.
My head is saying a teeny tiny weeny bit get this one.

PURPLE

Not a colour I would normally go for.
Dark and mean without being bleak and boring.
More girly. Wait. Do I want to be more girly? Yes. No. Gah!!
Goes better with the blue backing light of the screen.
My eyes say it is a teeny tiny weeny bit nicer than the other.

Conclusion. I DONT KNOW!!! How can I not decide?! I can always decide eventually!

Ok. The purple would be different to what I would usually get and more of a no brainer but it is more aesthetically pleasing. The red still looks stunning and is more interesting...... I hoped this blog would help me decide but I dont know!

I know you are all thinking "just pick one already! Its just a bloody colour!" and you are right. But to me an MP3 player is a sacred thing. It holds inside of it the one of the most important
things to me: my entire music collection. A collection that I have built up over years...nay... almost two decades! I will worship the little machine that allows me a window into my own little world and memories of the crazy 90s. That is why everything must be just right. If I pick the wrong colour I will kick myself for weeks. I will wake up in the night thinking: "It would have been perfect if I had got the other colour". Every time I listen to it I will think: "fantastic but it could be better...."

The moment has surely come. When I see myself with it I see the purple one. But I cannot bear to think that I will never get the red one.

Its no good. I am still at square one. I see the purple one and think "that is the prettiest one I will get that" but then something in my head says "get the red one. Do I want cool or fun?
Cool or fun?..... I want cool, but I am a fun person not a cool person....

Oh my holy cripes on toast. The purple one is £10 more expensive than the red on play.com and amazon dont have the purple one! My decision was made the whole time !

And I had just decided on the red.
Gah!

Oh well.
