I felt like writing something today but wasnt sure as I couldnt think of what to put. In the end speaking to Mike E convinced me to write something even if it wasnt too earth shatteringly amazing.

After some thought of what I could out I thought of my new little book in my collection. In adition to the deliciously self centred dream, writing and important things books I have, I now have gotten myslef a nice little shiney purpley pink note book that I am (at least attempting) to carry around with me so I can write thing down in fits of inspiration. I dont have too much so far, I use it as much for homework and school notes as anything else but I did come up with the idea to write some "words of wisdom from unlikely places" down. I have carried some of these around in my head for ages but have never written down as hey sound ridiculous when I say who they are from.

Example. A very good philosophy I remember when I am doing something difficult: "Simply do or do not, there is no try". A very simple way of looking at things. "Oooooh I might not be able to" is what I sometimes think when faced with a challenge then when I think of that little pearl I think about more and consider, what could really stop me from my goal? Usually just myself, my possible mistakes and my apprehension, if I just focus and do it, I can do it just fine.

So who came up with this lttle quote? Um. Yoda actually. Hehe. You see what I mean? You go around telling people you get strength by something a little green man from a film said, people think you are at least a bit eccentric!

Ok. How bout some more?

"It never competely goes away, a part of you will always love them." Wise words indeed. It is true. You know "That person" I bang on about in my Writing Stuff Blog? Well it applies here. You can have the strongest feelings for somebody, and when you spend a long time away from them you think the feelings have gone away. But when somebody talks about them or if you catch a glimpse of them, you find that there will always be a little spark there. A "glimmer" to quote one of my poems. You cant help but still feel for them, even if it isnt as strong despite the fact that you are over them.

Who said that one? Peggy Mitchell of all people!

This one you sci-fi fans might know:

"You have already made the choice. You came here to find out why you made the choice." Ceratinly a more complex one. It is true in an abstract kind of way. People are I guess predictable on a fundamental level. Although as flawed beings we lack the cognative ability to analyse behaviour patterns in great detail, if we are given the same dilmma in the same situation, as personalities we will always react in the same way to that dilemma. The situation may be incredibly complex and detailed down to how many times you have faced a similar situation, whether you have been exposed to certain situations or maybe even the time of day. As humans we believe we have free will, but humans are essentially identical blank canvasses that are made unique by the experiences and biology we are given. In that sense we are governed by our experiences and biology, not free will. Therefore, before we are born we have the biology we will have for the rest of our lives and experiences that the dimension of time will come to thrust upon us. Our choices have therefore already been made. We are on this earth simply to understand why we have made these choices.

Damn that was complex and came out of my head from nowhere lol. So who said that? The oracle from the brilliant film "The Matrix".

Any more?

How bout "There is no reality, just versions of reality." This was said in the context of Media studies and the way that the media mediate what they see to the audience. We dont see reality on TV, just bits of reality that have been put together in a way to conote a particular vibe. Life could be said to be the same I guess. Each of us is a mediator. We each see the same thing in a different way and so there is no one reality, just different versions of it.

Phew! That is from my lovely Media teacher Miss Evans (although she may have paraphrased it from a book but who cares!)

Ok I have a few more here that I probably wont explain but will put for future reference and hey, maybe you will like them too!

"I want you to imagine a flame inside your tummy. That flame becomes a ball of fire when you perform." - "Them"

"Dont let yourself go, everybody cries...sometimes" - Michael Stipe

"The difference between genius and insanity is measured only by success" - 007s nemesis in "Tommorow Never Dies"

"Look like the innocent flower but be the sepant under't" - Lady Macbeth/Shakespeare

"With great power comes great responsibility" - Peter Parker/Stan Lee

"If a criminal has what you want, you do business with him" - My politics teacher Mr Hemmingway on the nature of politics

"Religion is the opium of the people" - Karl Marx

"All mean are created equal" - Martin Luther King (shouldn't that be women too?)

"What is the difference between smoking and suicide except time?" - The caption on a 6th form art project

"You only have to answer to yourself" - S Club 7! Haha! Its true in the end though.

"Power coorupts and absolute power corrupts absaloutley" - Dont know but its clever and true dont you think?

"Hurt me, Hurt yourself" - No idea and I cant remember where an earth I got it from! It is true though. Maybe it was off an anti bullying poster...

"What is important about time is not how long it is, but how long it seems." - Terry Pratchett

"Nobody can hurt you with words unless you let them" - Eleanor Rooselvelt, cheesy but true.

And here are some I think I made up but I probably didnt...

"Freedom is living by ones own constraints"

"Clarity makes things easier, but does it make them better? It certainly makes them less interesting."

Well there we are. I guess that was midly interesting wasnt it?
